Q216
Detroit Rougemere - Philadelphia Eastside

Q216-24 is westbound at Edinburgh PA just 5 miles east of the Ohio/Pennsylvania state line at mp BG62.1. We are standing on the former roadbed of the P&LE. Both it and the B&O parallel the Mahoning River from New Castle PA to Youngstown OH. The old PRR, now the NS Youngstown Line, follows the opposite side of the river between those two towns as well. As of this writing (October 2002) we can still find a lot of leased power on the head end of many CSX trains on the New Castle Subdivision, one of the many traits that make our Sweet Lady so darn sweet.

This day started out at W. Terry Stuart's way-fun lodging establishment known as the Fallston Flagstop in Fallston, PA after a grand Saturday evening of fine seafood from the yacht club next door and a lot of trains viewed from the Flagstop's back porch. Sunday September 24 2000.
